ACNE

AcneThe skin is colonized by millions of bacteria. In general these don’t do any harm, but  sometimes there are less wholesome bacteria present on the skin. If these bacteria manage to penetrate through a cut or crack they can infect a wound and may form an abscess.  These bacteria can also result in the formation of spots, or more serious acne, where the glands are infected and enlarged due to the blockage of the follicles in which the glands are situated.

In teenagers, this can be caused by surges in hormones. Too much alcohol and some medical drugs can also create blemishes on the skin.  Microscopic fungi that use dead cells and skin secretions as food also cause infestations of the outer skin. These fungal infections are not usually harmful, but they can cause intense irritation and damage to the skin’s appearance.  Acne Free in 3 days has some wonderful answers to the natural control of acne.

WHAT CAUSES DEHYDRATION

dehydrationDehydration occurs because there is too much water lost, not enough water taken in, or most often a combination of the two. Diarrhea is the most common reason a person loses excess water with each bowel movement.  Vomiting can also be a cause of fluid loss.  Sweat can create  significant loss of fluids. Whether your body is hot because of the environment, intense exercising, or because of a fever, the body uses a significant amount of water in the form of sweat to cool itself.  Diabetes can cause significant dehydration because of frequent urination.  Inability to drink fluids when you are sick is another potential cause of dehydration.Dehydration can cause many problems physically and emotionally.

Make sure that you when you are sick or over heated that you drink plenty of fluids.  Good clean water from  Aquasana Water Filters can make the water taste better so you will enjoy drinking more.

Jack Lalane“I feel that you have three ages: your chronological age (your actual age), your physical age (how you feel today), and your psychological age (how you feel mentally). The old saying, “You’re only as old as you feel,” is absolutely true.”                 Jack LaLanne  -  Revitalize Your Life After 50

Do you ever have days that you feel extremely young or extremely old.  I certainly do.  When I take the time to think about it, I can usually trace the way I feel by what I have been eating, whether or not I have been exercising, or how well am I sleeping.  When I make appropriate changes in my routine, I can feel much younger than I am.

sports massage
Sports massage is designed to help athletes or anyone else prepare their bodies for optimal performance, recover after a big event or unjury, or function well during training or just regular exercise.  Sports massage is also good to help people recover from injuries, chronic pain or restricted range of motion.
There are four types of sports massages:
-Pre-event sports massage, a short massage to help stimulate the parts of tlhe body that will be involved in the exertion.
-Post-event sports massage given within an hour or two of the event, to help normalize the body’s tissues.
-Restorative sports massage given during training to allow the athlete to train harder and with less injury.
-Rehabilitative sports massage focused on alleviating pain due to injury and returning the body to health.
Salt Lake City full body massage has excellent information and training to assist in helping you feel better.

TYPES OF SKIN

types of skinThere are three basic skin types but you may find that your skin is a  mixture of these. The basic skin types are dry, oily, and combination.
OILY SKIN - usually has a shine to it, and may be prone to black heads and acne. Oily skin tends to attract more dirt and dust, so washing with a cleansing bar is an ideal way of caring for it. Use warm water to loosen the dirt, then use cold water to rinse.
DRY SKIN - looks dry and sometimes flakes, often feels tight especially if you have washed it with soap and water.  It reacts to very hot and very cold weather by tightening up, and is easily chapped in a dry atmosphere.. One benefit of dry skin is that it is that it is less likely to develop acne.  Always use a mild, creamy cleanser and moisturize your face every day, including the throat and the skin around your eyes.  Use warm water to lather and rinse it with cold.
COMBINATION SKIN - which most of us have, with an oily center area or a T-zone across the forehead, nose, and chin, and areas of dryness on the cheeks, and around the eyes and neck. Acne can also be a problem in the oily areas.  It is best to get  a cleanser designed for combination skin, that you can use for the central oily panel, and then dilute with water for the drier areas. The drier areas may or may not need moisturizing frequently.

There is information on the internet on how to begin clearing your  Acne in 3 days naturally, without harsh medication or abrasives.

leg crampsMy Mom had terrible leg cramps, or charlie horses, for many years.  She would take extra calcium with her supplements.  She ate right, drank plenty of water and was very very active,  but they wouldn’t go away.  The worst ones seemed to always come in the middle of the night and she would have to get up and dance around to get them to ease up so she could go back to sleep.

I started to do Cranio Sacral Therapy on her on a weekly basis.  During the sessions, she would have terrible charlie horses.  I asked her to just breathe through them the best she could.  After several sessions, she noticed that her daily episodes of  charlie horses were diminishing.  Over several months they had almost disappeared.  What a wonderful relief!

liteandjoyI think everybody goes through times when they say, “Things aren’t working right,” Or “Things are going bad.” Once, when there were some things going on in my family, I found a rock, and I just sat holding it. I took this rock, I stuck it in my pocket, and I said, “Every time I touch this rock I’m going to think of something that I’m grateful for.” So every morning when I get up in the morning, I pick it up off the dresser, I put it in my pocket, and I go through the things that I’m grateful for. At night, what do I do? I empty my pocket, and there it is again.
I’ve had some amazing experiences with this idea. A guy from South Africa saw me drop it. He asked, “What is that?” I explained it to him, and he started calling it a gratitude rock. Two weeks later I got an email from him, in South Africa. And he said, “My son is dying from a rare disease. It’s a type of hepatitis. Would you send me three gratitude rocks?” They were just ordinary rocks I found of the street, so I said, “Sure.” I had to make sure that the rocks were very special, so I went out to the stream, picked out the right rocks, and sent them off to him.
Four or five months later, I get an email from him. He said: “My son’s better; he’s doing terrific.” And he said, “But you need to know something. We’ve sold over a thousand rocks at ten dollars apiece as gratitude rocks, and we’ve raised all the money for charity. Thank you very much.”
So it’s very important to have an “attitude of gratitude.”   Lee Brower  - The Secret, Rhonda Byrne

We all have days when we struggle emotionally, some more than others.  In all the years that I have suffered anxiety and depression, it wasn’t until I started to spend more time being thankful for everything around me, that I started to notice a decrease in my negative feelings.  I find myself being more positive about life, and even about my trials when I am thankful.

alfalfa sproutsSprouting at home takes only a few minutes a day.  It can produce many of your daily nutritional requirements that you need from fresh produce.  The costs of sprouting is low and the freshness is wonderful.  If you have a jar, some screen or netting, and rinse the sprouts twice a day, you can grow delicious organic sprouts in 4 to 6 days.

Growing your own sprouts means having fresh organic vegetables every day, and it only takes a square foot of counter space. Common seeds for sprouting include alfalfa, peas, lentils, broccoli, cabbage, mustard seed, garbanzos, and quinoa.  You eat them on their own or add them to salads, sandwiches, or soup.

Broccoli sprouts fight cancer

broccoli sproutsResearchers at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine have discovered that 3-day old broccoli sprouts have exceptionally high amounts of a natural cancer-fighting compound.   Dr. Paul Talalay and his colleagues, have been researching this for over 20 years, and they have concluded that some varieties of vegetables such as broccoli contain high amounts of a substance called ’sulforaphane’ which helped support antioxidants, such as vitamins C and vitamin E.

They have found that these 3-day-old sprouts contain 20 to 50 times the amount of this cancer fighting element than mature broccoli.  These organic sprouts can be used in soups, sandwiches, and salads not only to add nutrition, but also to add great flavor.
