Good skin care is essential for a youthful looking skin and face, and your facial “health” depends on it. Men and women must take care of their skin to remain younger looking and to ensure the continued health of their skin.
Good skin care is important, but good nutrition is also required for a healthy ageless, smooth and wrinkle-free skin, and to help eliminate acne. Supplying the body with the needed vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, proteins and fats will greatly improve the odds of fighting wrinkles and lines. The skin is a wonderful barometer of our health.
Some habits that cause skin to age are: Excessive sun tanning, poor skin care, not drinking enough water and consuming too much alcohol. Repeated fad diets, smoking, eating junk food and food that is too rich, not eating enough good food. Too much caffeine, too little exercise, and too little rest and sleep
Research suggests that high-intensity workouts of continuous exercise such as running, aerobics, biking, or intense weight training, that lasts for 45 minutes or more – a sports drink may be beneficial in delaying muscle fatigue by providing your body with additional energy. A steady source of carbohydrates during prolonged exercise fights off fatigue and enhances performance of the muscles. A solution containing electrolytes and carbohydrates may be absorbed more quickly and help to retain fluids consumed during prolonged intense exercise
For exercise lasting 45 minutes or less, water is your best choice. For the recreational athlete who may exercise 30-40 minutes per session, water is sufficient for hydration: Water is easily absorbed, and is the best choice to drink before moderate length exercise. Water is also more readily available and much less expensive than sport drinks. A home water filter system can also be less expensive than store bought water.
What do you really want? Sit down and write it out on a piece of paper. Write it in the present tense. You might begin by writing, “I am so happy and grateful now that …” And then explain how you want your life to be, in every area. Bob Proctor - The Secret, Rhonda Byrne
Writing can also help you to overcome Anxiety and Panic and help you become a more positive person. As you plan out how you want your life, and focus on the positive, keeping that in the forefront of your mind, you can keep much of the negative at bay. Two books that can really help are - “The Power of Positive Thinking” and “The Power of Positive Habits”.
You should not consume a heavy meal in the first hour after exercise. Allow your body to cool down for about 30 minutes, and then you can enjoy a snack or light meal. The ideal post-exercise snack should be light and nutritious, containing mainly carbohydrates and protein in a ratio of about 2:1.
Some examples could be: 1 cup of fruit juice with protein powder, or 1 cup of 1 percent milk or nonfat yogurt. Maybe 1 apple with 1 inch cube of low-fat cheese or 2 slices of whole wheat bread with 2 thin slices of turkey. Be creative! To achieve the best results from exercise, be sure to consume a healthy, well-balanced diet all through the day!
In a world where we do so much standing, running, walking and lifting, our feet are too often neglected. Our feet are being stifled in shoes and socks all day, and have restricted circulation and air contact and a foot massage can help to get that circulation going again. What better way to give the feeling of rejuvenation throughout the entire body then to receive a foot massage.
Although machines that massage feet are becoming popular, there is no replacement for what the genuine human touch can do. So whether your massaging your own foot or someone else’s, in most cases it will allow you or the recipient to walk away feeling better, and with a more positive attitude than you had prior to starting.
Don’t consume food during exercise, because the body shifts fluid away from muscles and into the gastrointestinal tract for digestion.
Be sure to drink plenty of water during exercise. Drinking water during exercise does not cause upset stomach or cramps. Muscle cramps are also not caused by inadequate salt intake, but by excess water loss through perspiration. Salt tablets will aggravate dehydration by drawing fluids into the stomach. Prevent muscle cramps during exercise by keeping well hydrated.
Restricting water during exercise may cause severe dehydration and limit performance. Ideally, exercisers should consume adequate fluids during activity so that body weight remains relatively unchanged before and after exercise. For people who exercise up to an hour in moderate environmental conditions, the most appropriate fluid to drink is cool clean water that you can get from Aquasana water filters.
Seeds can multiply 8-15 times their weight, so sprouting is very economical. Sprouts are nutritious because they are baby plants in their prime. They have a greater concentration of vitamins, minerals, proteins, enzymes, phytochemicals, anti-oxidants, nitrosamines, trace minerals, bioflavinoids and chemo-protectants such as sulphoraphane and isoflavone which work against toxins, resist cell mutation and strengthen the body’s immune system.
Sprouts are organic because you don’t use any pesticides, fumigants or synthetic fertilizers or chemicals. They can be grown anytime or anywhere all year long. Sprouts are fresh, LIVING foods with no loss of nutrients from sitting in a warehouse or on a grocery store shelf. I highly recommend “The Sprouting Book” by Ann Wigmore who has been considered an authority on sprouting.
Sprouts are one of the most complete and nutritious of all foods. Sprouts are rich with vitamins, minerals, proteins, and enzymes. Have you ever heard of a vegetable that continues to gain vitamins after it is harvested? Sprouts are LIVING foods and after you harvest your sprouts and refrigerate them, they will continue to grow slowly and their vitamin content will actually increase.
Why eat sprouts? In addition to providing the highest amount of vitamins, minerals, proteins and enzymes of any food per unit of calorie, the nutrients from the sprouts are easily digested and assimilated into the body. In fact, sprouts can help to improve the efficiency of digestion. Sprouts are also fresh and colorful, and add delicious tastes and textures for salads, sandwiches, soups, etc.
One of the most common questions that parents ask is “What’s the right weight for my child?” People have different body types, so no single number is the right weight for everyone. If you think your child has gained too much weight or is too thin, a doctor should help you decide whether your child really has a weight problem. Heredity plays a role in a person’s body shape and weight. People from different races, ethnic groups, and nationalities tend to have different body fat distribution or body composition. Kids can reach and keep a healthy weight by eating right and being active.
Genes aren’t the only things that family members may share. The eating and exercise habits of people in the same household probably have an even greater effect than genes on someone’s risk of becoming overweight. If your family eats a lot of high-fat foods or snacks or doesn’t get much exercise, your kids may tend to do the same. The good news is these habits can be changed for the better by eating good nutritious food. Even simple forms of exercise, such as walking, have huge health benefits.
Please remember that it’s not a specific number on the scale that’s important. It’s making sure that kids stay healthy inside and out.
I worked on my Granddaughter when she was less than 2 hours old. She had quite a cone shaped head because her head had been resting on a bone, inside the womb, before she was born. That position prevented her from being born naturally and the doctor finally decided to take her by cesarean section. Besides having such an odd shaped head, she was fussy and very discontent.
She was having a difficult time nursing and as I worked on her that first day it helped her to relax so she could nurse better. I continued Cranio Sacral Therapy on her for a couple of weeks and her head took on a beautiful round shape. I was also able to assist her through colic and help calm her when she was sick.
